Risk Assessment

• Working at height is definitely a risk for workers. In order to prevent any falls, we follow risk assessment methods in scaffolding.
• At the start of work, we provide a briefing to our workers as part of training. This briefing mainly focuses on Method Statement (MS), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and Risk Assessment (RP).
• During the orientation of new staff, the risks associated with working at height along with control measures are communicated to our workers.

Training and Competency

• Personnel working at height are assessed for physical capability and suitability before they have been assigned work that requires them to work at height.
• In certain situations, working at height has a high risk of falling. For this reason, we provide our workers with adequate information and instructions about work safety. This also includes the right use of fall protection equipment.

Equipment

• Our competent workforce ensures that the equipment required to work at height is well-maintained and fit. If equipment is found defective or damaged, it is disregarded.
• Our equipment is inspected and maintained accordingly, and we make sure that the equipment inspection is always recorded.

Safe Work Procedures (SWPS)

• Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) are a common form of administrative control being implemented by Kim Sing Scaffolding Pte Ltd. Since different kinds of scaffolding duties involve working at height, we help our workers carry out their duties safely by providing them with systematic instructions based on SWPs.
• Our scaffold supervisors are experienced in managing worker who flout safety procedures due to inconvenience or negligence. We maintain a high standard of safety culture and reward those who adhere to safety rules and awareness.

Accident/Incident Investigation

• In case of a fall incident or accident, we determine the deficiencies existing in the current fall protection system and analyze what has actually contributed to this accident/incident. To prevent such fall incidents from happening, we identify long-term preventive actions and implement these accordingly.
• Once the investigation has been completed and the results are known, we educate our staff about the necessary measures they are required to take when working at heights.
